Changing the World was a one-year initiative (2009-2010) to encourage GGUK members to complete at least one community action project of their choice in lead up to our centenary year. The project we chose were fun, engaging and relevant to today’s girls.

All Saints Brownies and Guides held a funday in the garden of hope which raised ~£500 for book aid international and the Mental health foundation.  We had a dabble tent, bouncy castle, story telling, art gallery, History of guidung exhibit and lots of carnival game.

The guides made friendship bracelets and explored what makes a good friend as well as finding out about bullying and how to deal with  it.

Cheshire Forest's Centenary Launch Party

We joined thousand of girls from across the county at a very wet chester racecourse on Sunday 6th September to celebrate the launch of our centenary celebrations.  We enjoyed the 'up the wall' competetion and lunch by the river before an afternoon of craft activities, picnic party, a live samba band before the grand finale and a huge centenary birthday cake.  A great way to kick start our centernary celebrations.

Getaway Gig

We joined Cheshire Boarder at Chester Showground for our own Glastonbury like festival.  Fortunately we had fabulous weather, the sun was shining so we didn't get the full mud experience.  We enjoyed some great music including Pegasus Bridge and Twenty Twenty and danced the night away.  We got to meet the band and have photos taken with them which was great!
